  Teaching Method
The method I have been using successfully for 25 years is the Italian/Swedish School singing method.
​I believe singing can FEEL GOOD so that you can have CONTROL through RELEASE and SUPPORT. 

Who should take voice lessons?
​*Everyone who desires to sing with more ease, clarity, power, control and confidence. 
​​*Accepting teens, professional and amateur adults, children above age 10
​
Students will learn to:
​*Connect mind and body to produce sound with ease, clarity, control, and confidence.
*Understand the mechanics and engagement of breath support.
*Create physical release for sound to occur naturally.
*Make clear sound without taxing the physical release or breath support.
*Make a unified sound throughout the voice with effective use of the vowels and consonants.
*Learn the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) to sing in many languages.
​*Use this vocal technique to sing in many styles.
​*Gain music reading and sight-singing skills.
 
 
What to expect during a voice lesson
*Tailored vocalizing exercises
*Suitable repertoire chosen from standard classical, art and folk styles
*Sight-singing and/or solfege (sol-fa) training
*A nurturing environment for all students: beginner to advanced
*Musicianship training to make the most of the text and musical phrase
​*Performance etiquette through twice-yearly Mackintosh Music Studio Recitals
*Lessons for those aged 10-12 will generally consist of basic music and sight-singing training and learning to use the voice
   in a healthy way while having fun singing songs appropriate for their young voices. 30-min lesson.
​*Lessons for adults or school-age students who are physically mature, will generally consist of vocalization,
work on répertoire including languages, phrasing, and performance practice in addition to
gaining basic music reading and sight-singing skills.

All lessons are weekly or bi-weekly under signed contract August-June
*Lessons will be invoiced by email
*Payment can be made by bank draft and is due on the day of the lesson.
*Summer Session available with no contract

Cancellation Policy
*If it is absolutely necessary to cancel a lesson, please do so AT LEAST 24 hours in advance.
*If a lesson must be canceled, and IF studio time permits, it is expected that the lesson be made up within two   
 weeks of the original lesson time. It is essential that lessons are attended regularly to maintain progress.
*Reasons for cancellation should be limited to extreme ill health or a family emergency.
