Eileen is a natural born teacher. Her approach to singing is healthy and natural and she encourages her students to fulfill their vocal potential through fundamental musical and technical skills. She is kind spirited yet passionate and that translates to her teaching. She continued to advance my technique from the time I began studying privately through my professional career. Without Eileen, I would not have found my love of classical music nor have had the courage to pursue a performance career. I continue to use the skills she taught me in my performance career as well as now teaching them to my own private students. Lindsey Grebeldinger, student for 8 years, SSG Alto Vocalist, The Army Voices, The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own”
Ms. Mackintosh is a consummate musician… she sings with great conviction and works hard to develop nuanced interpretations. She is in every way a pleasure to work with. Joshua Greene, Assistant Conductor, Metropolitan Opera, New York
Eileen Mackintosh is the rare example of someone who is an exceptional performer and outstanding teacher. Her performance as singer on the opera stage and as recitalist meets the standard of international excellence, singing with superlative technique which also touches the emotions of the listener. In addition to attending her opera performances, I have been privileged to collaborate with her as soloist for our annual Handel’s Messiah concert at West Point. Her role as storyteller in the famous oratorio enthralled a full chapel with an audience of almost one thousand people. Eileen has also been the voice teacher of both my son and daughter, working with their abilities and cultivating a discipline which led both to pursue musical degrees in higher education. She was always patient and kind, speaking to the needs of her students not only in the technical sense but in the spiritual realm as well. Craig Williams, Organist/Choirmaster, Cadet Chapel, United States Military Academy, West Point, New York
A truly inspiring and caring teacher, who became one of my great mentors, and is a great and loving friend. What more could a student want?” Andrew David Mattfeld, Professor of Voice and Piano, Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts
Eileen is the kind of artist for whom you program specific operas. I have never enjoyed performing with anyone more. Mack Richardson, Artistic Director, Oswego Opera Theater, New York (Retired)
I studied with Eileen for five years in high school and college. The foundation she gave me as a singer allows me to work as an actor regionally, on Broadway national tours and internationally. Cody Ryan, Actor
Teacher, cheerleader, artist and friend. Eileen encouraged me when others didn’t, brought out talent and technique I didn’t know I had and on more than one occasion brought me to tears with her gift during live performances. She is the reason I pursued and found success in music and performance in the many years since she started teaching me. Eileen helped me find my voice in more than one sense of the word. Robert Yonskie, Student age 15-18 (2002-2005) during college breaks (2005-2009) Hartt School of Music Class 09, Music Theatre , Magna Cum Laude, Performer in New York City, Owner of touring company
My daughter studied voice for 6+ years under Eileen 's tutelage. Eileen as both teacher and friend, was instrumental when college selections came. Now several years later, my daughter has a degree in Sacred Music and is the Music Director of a Parish Church. Her teaching expertise and guidance are still greatly appreciated! Ed Lazarri, Parent
Eileen is a gift to the music industry. At a young age she fostered a sense of confidence within me. She didn't let me be complacent but instead challenged my technique and ability. I am thankful because she helped me establish a solid foundation. Samantha Seminario, Singer for Anomalous Day, Area Director - Queens
I’m so grateful for having had the opportunity of working with Eileen as my choral accompanist for 10 years and for all of the support she has provided both my students and myself. She is truly one of the most genuine, professional, talented, and kind-hearted people I’ve ever had the honor of knowing and working with. Rachel Scali, Chester Academy Choral Director, New York
Working with Eileen was one of the most impactful experiences for me. Finding my voice was a crucial step that was guided with such accommodation, care, and integrity. Eileen’s methods not only helped me understand my voice but also formulate a way to audition for schools to study what I love. Kyle M. Brown, Graduate, Pace University BFA Musical Theatre
Eileen is a wonderful voice teacher and friend. I studied with her for over two years and through my studies with her I built a strong technical foundation for my voice and learned many music skills that have aided me as a musician and aspiring music educator. Aside from being a part of her voice studio, I also had the opportunity to perform with her on stage in the Delaware Valley Opera's production of “Die Fledermaus” for which she was also chorus master . I will always be grateful for meeting her not only to be her student, but also her friend. Evan Sacco; Music Major at Ithaca College, Class of ‘21
I have such high respect for her vocal teaching, I chose her to teach my son voice lessons. Professionally, I have observed Mrs. Mackintosh as a Guest Master Teacher working with my choruses (Grades 6,7 & 8) at Minisink Valley Middle School. Her workshops always brought to my students a sense of greater musicianship and an appreciation for the art of singing. Daniel Bradley, Music Teacher (Retired)
I have known Eileen as a longtime member of her church choir and as a parent of a vocal student. It was my pleasure on both counts! I can say without hesitation that both experiences were fulfilling. I grew up having sung with many different directors and was delighted to find as an adult that Eileen had so much more to teach me! It was a delightful learning experience to sing in Eileen’s choir. As a parent it was a joy to watch my son improve and sing to his best ability while enjoying himself the entire time. Eileen’s own vocal talent served as an incredible model and her ability to teach crossed all ages and abilities. I feel confident in that statement as I have seen Eileen perform and teach in such a wide variety of venues from boisterous High School musicals to quiet, reverent church services. My favorite aspect of singing for Eileen? She puts the person first. She genuinely cares for her choir members and her students. My entire family has been touched by her kindness as well as her talent. Laurie Hulle, church choir member and parent of a 3 year student
